Settting Up Your Platform for Your Delivery Needs: How to Save a Frequently Visited Location
How Adding a Saved Location Works:
If you have more than one location that is frequently used as a pick-up location for your deliveries you can save it as a saved location. Saved frequently visited locations create ease of access when scheduling your deliveries. Simply type in the name or a portion of the address, and the fields will auto-populate for you when scheduling a delivery.Steps:
How to Save a Frequently Visited Location:- To save a location, navigate to the Scheduling tab and click on the Locations icon.
- Complete all required (*) fields. Start with the Address* field.
- Once you have typed in the City*, the rest of the address fields (State* / Postal* and Geocode – longitude/latitude*) will autopopulate a valid address. You have the option to add in a location phone number.
- Company* - Autopopulates
- Status* - The field defaults to Active. If you are no longer using a saved location, you can inactivate here.
- Type* - If you want to keep track of your different saved locations by type, you can create types here.
- To ensure the GPS pin is dropping where you want the driver to go, click on the map icon next to the Name field.
- If the pin is not dropping where you want the driver to go, you can create a custom pin drop.
- To create a custom pin drop, click on the blue link that says, “If you can’t find the address you are looking for, create a custom address”.*
- Move your pin drop by right-clicking on the desired location. Once the pin is where you want it, click create.
- A window may pop up mentioning that an address already exists and asks if you’d like to use the existing address, click “NO” because you want to create a new location
- Name and save your new location
- Name* – This is the nickname for the location. The words or acronym assigned here will create a shortcut for anyone scheduling a delivery to use. When a user types in the saved acronym on the scheduling screen, this will autopopulate the address. For example, On the Go can be named “OTG”, and the address will populate in the Scheduling screen when the scheduler types “OTG”.
- Full Name*: Use the full name of the location. For example: “On the Go”.
- You can manage Custom Addresses by clicking the blue link.
- You can leave pickup and dropoff notes for the dispatch team to see. The note will populate to the Dispatch team when you use the saved location. The driver note only populates to a Lyft driver from the Scheduling, Client Profile and Accounts screen.
- Click the floppy disc button to save your edits.
